this is part of our brief and very classic conversation
obviously full of “feelings”

qing: hahahaa… my feelings.

nee : next time juz write and send to me la. especially when u got feel. it worths money

qing: ic… i shouldn’t blog them (refering to my “feelings”). money wasted
nee : heee, now u know. still worth few hundreds geh

ok… i’m putting my so-called “feelings” on sale
and it worths a few hundred….Ringgit Malaysia of course

i spilled water on my laptop last night
while trying to chase away two flies out of my room
accidentally knocked down a thermos cup placed beside my laptop
and of course, the water spilled over the keyboard
it shut down after a few minutes and went into coma
i’d tried to use a hair dryer to dry it
but some of the plastic keys melted due to the heat
then anxiously loosen up part of the casing from behind (i guess i shouldn’t have done it)
and was left no choice but to wait till tmr
luckily it regained conscious after 6 hours. Gott sei Dank!
but the keyboard beeps whenever i type upon it
very annoying… hopefully it’s reparable

here are some dos and don’ts after you spilled water over your laptop
first of all, in order to avoid similar situations above
do not place any drinks, or anything in liquid form nearby your laptop
if this situation really happens, unfortunately,
despite each and every precautions taken, calm down

rule #1: don’t panic
it is absolutely normal due to short circuit after the spill
that your laptop will shut down automatically
stay calm
do not do anything silly
as for my case i think loosen up the laptop’s casing and try to wipe it dry is not sth clever to do
it might damage the delicate parts of your laptop

rule #2: be extra cautious on using a hair dryer
any plastic parts might melt under such heat
you can use a hair dryer to dry your laptop
provided you use it carefully
don’t place the hair dryer too close to your laptop

rule #3: do not try to turn it on until it’s thoroughly dry
some might suggest using hair dryer to help drying up faster
i would say be extra cautious because it might damage the plastic parts of your laptop
(look at the picture above)
make sure you r calm enough to perform your laptop any “first aid”

rule #4: do not feel helpless
it’s not end of the world, your data the laptop will probably survive
your laptop might be in coma for a few hours
leave it alone
it might recover from the coma next day

rule #5: plan for the worst
be prepared that your laptop might not perform the same before its coma
you might need to send for reparation
at worst, get a new one (this is where all my panic, anxiety comes from)

conclusion: i tend to be impulsive and do silly things whenever i’m anxious
and i’m obviously very destructive… =”=

p/s: the two flies are still flying joyfully in my room!!! >.<

this is the very first episod where apple appeared. watched the annoying orange’s video since i can’t really fall asleep. the more i watch the less sleepier i am.
